Classes
Welcome to the 2026–27 academic year at Harris Primary Academy Beckenham Green!
We are delighted to begin another exciting chapter of learning, exploration and growth with our amazing pupils. This year promises to be truly special, culminating in a whole-school trip to Wildwood in Kent , which will be an unforgettable experience that will bring our learning to life through wildlife, conservation and the natural world. Wildwood Kent is home to a wide range of native and once-native animals, including otters, owls, arctic foxes, badgers, lynx, wolves and bears, which link perfectly to our new class names for 2026–27.
In celebration of this exciting adventure, each of our classes this year is named after an animal connected to Wildwood and the world of wildlife: Reception – Otter Class, Year 1 – Owl Class, Year 2 – Arctic Fox Class, Year 3 – Badger Class, Year 4 – Lynx Class, Year 5 – Wolf Class and Year 6 – Bear Class. Each animal represents important learning behaviours we want our children to develop: curiosity, resilience, teamwork, independence, courage and care for the world around them.
We cannot wait to explore the habitats, behaviours and stories behind these incredible animals, while making meaningful links across science, geography, reading, writing, art and personal development. Through this theme, our pupils will learn more about conservation, responsibility and the importance of protecting nature, while continuing to live our Beckenham Green values: Ready, Respectful and Safe. Welcome to a year of curiosity, courage and conservation at Harris Primary Academy Beckenham Green!
